Aare Gorge

The natural wonder of the Aare Gorge at the foot of the Grimsel and Susten Pass impresses with its 1.4-km-long, narrow and up to 200-m-deep gorge. Footbridges and tunnels open up this mystical force of nature (open from the beginning of April to the beginning of November).

Gelmerbahn

The Gelmerbahn, one of the steepest funicular railways in the world, takes you to impressive views and the wild and romantic Lake Gelmer. Your way there leads over the adventurous Handeckfall suspension bridge (open from June to the end of October).

Sherlock Holmes and the Haslital *

One of the most fascinating stories associated with Meiringen is that of the legendary Sherlock Holmes. Discover the Sherlock Holmes Museum in Meiringen, the place that inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) to write his famous stories.

Top of Europe – Jungfraujoch *

The panorama almost takes your breath away: anyone standing on the Jungfraujoch, the "Top of Europe", at 3,454 metres above sea level, immediately senses that this is a different world. The new Eiger Express takes you from the Grindelwald Terminal via the Eiger Glacier station to the Jungfraujoch in just 45 minutes. An experience you won't forget anytime soon!
